Troubleshooting Errors Occurred While Using Plug-N-Play Plugin

let us take a A deeper look into Plug-N-Play feature add-on.

In this article we would cover some basic troubleshooting guidelines to troubleshoot errors occurred while using Plug-N-Play plugin for missed call based customer phone verification.

As explained in article (Plug-in Manager Now Integrated Within Dial2Verify Dashboard ) there are 2 mandatory inputs to be provided while setting up Plug-N-Play plugin.

Options explained,

1. Plugin Name:
Select from the set of available plug-ins ( within your subscribed plan )

2. Auth URL:
Set the domain name where you wish to install this plugin ( No need to specify complete URL, Only hostname is required ), Sub-domain should be declared separately. 

3. Callback URL:
Set a publicly accessible URL, on which you wish to receive verification payload. This is an optional field, and can be left blank. 

4. Notification Email:
Set a custom email address, where you wish to receive missed call alerts. This is an optional field, and can be left blank.

One you enter required inputs, click on the ‘OK’ icon at extreme left of the plugin-manager interface,  This will host an instance of a missed call listener at Dial2Verify Engine. And you should see the Integration Code generated on the screen as follows,

Troubleshooting errors:

While developing plug-ins on top of Dial2verify Missed call telephony platform, we always give more emphasize to clarity of the message ( rather than popping out techie messages ) Let us see how you can self troubleshoot some of the errors, which might occur due to faulty configuration of the plug-in.

Case 1: Invalid Referral node / Public Key error

Ex. http://sample.code.dial2verify.in/plugins/Plug-N-Play/index3.html
While running the plug-in, user receives following error prompt.

There could be 2 causes of the error,
The domain name set in Plug-in Manager ( against the provided public-key ) does not match with the actual URL.
OR
The public key provided on the web page, does not exists.


To solve this issue, Go to Plug-in Manager and cross check the details provided for Auth URL parameter and also confirm if the Public-key generated by Dial2verify application ( for the selected instance ) matches with the one provided on your web-page.

Case 2: Invalid callback URL

Ex. http://sample.code.dial2verify.in/plugins/Plug-N-Play/index4.html
Plugin throws

As error prompt suggests, the reason for following error is the faulty / not reachable / redirected url set as a callback URL.

To correct it, Log in to the Plug-in Manager and edit the Plug-in instance with the valid URL. Once you save the URL, you would be able to test it by clicking over the URL.

Note:

If you do not specify PublicKey while calling Plug-N-Play plug-in, then the plug-in will automatically run in Pre-Deployment mode ( with default API key, and thus it would not be able to capture logs in your control panel )
